If everyone would go back and edit-out everything in the original post and every reply, then it would truly be a NOTHING thread.

My dad's name was Fred.
He always reckoned he was phreddbare. :(

He decided that I should be named Frederick, after him, but when my mother came to register the birth he was overseas serving in the Fleet Air Arm, so she named me Alan and added Frederick as an afterthought. ;-)

He had his own version of Goldilocks. The three bears were Mommy Bear, Daddy Bear and Fred Bear. :) ;-)

88...88

Post by Paul Graupp »

Why does a piano have 88 keys when NOTHING is short 88 to make another milestone at 8888 ? Do they have NOTHING but mere numbers in common and if so will there ever be a steel with 88 strings or perhaps, 88 fretts ?

Well, with 88 frets you would have to paint them on, because the high frets would be closer together than the width of the fret material. The painted lines would have to be so thin six octaves up that it would be like having to read a watch dial.

You're more likely to see an 88-string steel. Of course, you won't be able to reach anything beyond the fourth neck. :whoa:

NOTHING to cry about but, years and years ago, a teacher named Jonny Vaughn from Norman OK let me sit in for a few songs on his Fender 4-8. I recall thinking I would not be able to reach that 4th neck and even if I could, it had all bass strings on it and I had no idea what to do with them !! So, of course, I did just that... NOTHING !!

Every year I send a letter with the same request as the year before to Santa Claus.
My suspicion was that this Christmas, I would get NOTHING that was on my list:

Gulfstream V __ with Spey fan-jet engines
Ferrari Enzo __ gun metal gray
Six thousand square foot penthouse __ in Honolulu
Eight thousand square foot penthouse __ in the Augustus Tower at Ceasar's Palace in Las Vegas.

But, this year I did get a reply to my letter saying that it is all "on back order".

There is a reason I'm finally getting everything I wanted:
I always wish everyone a Merry Christmas and I believe in Santa Claus.
But, I never wish anyone a Happy New Year, because I have never believed in Guy Lombardo.
