<< Emmons LeGrande III - Loaded 8+7 >>
This is a '99 or 2000 LeGrande III originally owned by a professional touring steel player. He also played keyboards and spent most of his time on stage playing piano and not steel so this guitar has very low hours of playing time. Jack Strayhorn thinks it might have been one of the guitars he worked on before leaving the Emmons company.
The guitar as you can see is a beautiful grey birds-eye mica that seems to be flawless. No scratches or dings that I can find. It has 8 pedals and 6 knee levers in place. A 7th kneel lever was in the case when I got it and all the mounting hardware (pull rods, bell cranks, knee lever bracket, etc.) are with it. The knee lever must have once been installed on the guitar because the cross shaft is in place for a second LKL for the E9th neck. All the knee levers are polished and look great.
This guitar has the most common Emmons pedal and knee lever setup. But, what is a little uncommon is the counter-force device is connected to work on both necks. I don't see many of these guitars with the C6th neck counter-force but...what the heck!
This guitar will come with your choice of either a heavy-duty road case (old style, very heavy and worldly traveled) or a lightly used original Emmons tolex covered case. The guitar is priced at $3495 with the case of your choice. Or, if you'd like both cases the price is $3650. (I suspect the road case originally cost $400 to $500, and even though it's fairly used, she still has many good miles left and provides superior protection.) Note: Shipping is not included in prices above.
The guitar has standard Emmons pickups (Pentad I think? I am not an Emmons guy so I'm not sure if that's the name.) I have played it some time in my shop and it feels very solid, smooth action, and sounds like an Emmons should.
Take a look:
Take your choice.......or take both and have a spare!
Not looking for a trade. Please feel free to pm or email if you have any questions about this guitar.
Thanks for looking and Merry Christmas to all.

not Pentads
Tommy if they were Pentad pups it would have another round selector knob where the toggle switch is located, I do believe they are 108's
