| I was speaking with Al Perkins today. He said that he is recording alot of pedal steel right now for Iris Demint's new album. The album will be available in the February-March time frame for who ever are interested in hearing Al doing some recent pedal steel work. I'm looking forward to that. |

I only have a couple Iris DeMent CDs, but I don't ever recall hearing much in the way of steel on her recordings, this will be good.

I'm now converting my wife's vinyl records to MP3. I was listening to some Donna Summer -- Disco, not my normal genra-- and caught the sound of a steel guitar. I checked the credits and there was Al Perkins listed as the pedal steel player. I would never have guessed it!
