Alan, we'll probably be having it around Kingport, Tn. and we've been jamming for about 6 hours. Thought I would let you know since you've got around a 5 hour drive.

Thanks Tony, We'll wait and see what the weather is like. It might not be worth the drive for that short time.....We'll see when the time comes.

Hey Alan I drive all the way from Just south of Raleigh North Carolina and those six hours are worth the drive 400 some miles to seeing all my good friends in the Greeneville and Kingsport area.

Samuel, my wife and I came to the jam they had in Kingsport in july, 2007 and had a great time. Got to know a lot of good local players and meet the Great Herby Wallace.

It is only about 250 miles for me and by that time of the winter, I may have a bad case of cabin feaver and need to get away for a day or two.....Also looking forward to the Clayton GA jam in April.....

Greenville Steel Jam

I am a bedroom picker. I quit playing for several years, and I am trying to pick it back up in my retirement. :D I do'nt play good enough to Play before a crowd. I would like to come and listen to some good playing. I would also be interested in joining a Steel Guitar Club in East Tennessee.

jan. jam

Post by Larry Ray Miller »

I live in Elizabethton, TN. I am not ready to play in public. Many years ago I took some lessons from Jeff Newman, and got able to play a little never real good. I played for a few local gospel groups. I had some health, and financial problems. I sold all my gear except a session 500 that distorted. I could not get rid of the itch, so I bought an old MSA after retiring. I have only been back on it for about ten months. It is coming back faster than I thought it would. I will try to come to listen to some good picking, and meet some local pickers.

Larry don't leave your Steel Guitar at home as once you get there you will wish you had brought it. I run Steel Jams here in North Carolina and guys that come for the first time wish they had brought their Steel guitars with them. Bring yours as the guys will help you and show you some nice licks.
