The first chord of A Hard Day's Night
Great story, cool musical archeology, told joyfully.

Playing my version of the 1st chord of Hard Day’s Night on pedal steel –
http://soundcloud.com/marc-friedland/harddaysnitechord
Long story short –
Obviously not the same voicing as on the original, but it was close enough for my buddy to know within about a second -what song I wanted to play, even without any other clue. Though to be totally accurate – we had played a number of Beatles songs that afternoon so it’s not like it came completely out of left field.

George Martin was TRULY the 5th Beatle. I just listened to it again, and yes, there's George Martin's piano chord. Never noticed it all these years.
