The November edition of the recorded continuous airing of "Swingin' West" is up on the Internet on twangtownusa.com. It will be on 24 hours a day seven days a week over and over, for the entire month.
The theme for this month, November, is a tribute to the 2006 Steel Guitar Hall of Fame inductee, Maurice Anderson. Reece will be heard on all of the tunes of this show with the exception of our opening and closing theme. You will enjoy him with the great Bob Wills with Joe Andrews on vocal and then again from Joe’s final recording session from the mid 1980s. There will also be many session recordings of Reece over the years with the great Janet McBride, David Cline, the Legendary Light Crust Doughboys, Jon Rutherford, Hadley Barrett, Jimmy Eaves and a rare demo recoding with Ivan Greathouse and Bobby Wommack.
Other tunes on this will include one by Johnny High as well as another with Reece’s beautiful and talented wife Teresa in the spotlight. Other gems feature Reece from last year’s wonderful CD with lead guitarist Jim Stahlhut, as a member of Johnny Gimble’s Basque Bandits from 1975 and two cuts with 2006 Western Swing Hall of Fame great Dave Alexander. You can hear Dave and Reece from the classic “Steel with Brass” CD and then Reece as part of Dave Alexander and the Legends of Western Swing. The closing theme is played by one of today’s biggest talents, Bobby Flores.
The recorded edition of "Swingin' West" can always be heard by clicking the mouse on the appropriate spot on the bottom of the home page of the "Swingin' West" web site www.swinginwest.com
Thank You!
