Howdy everbody. Charles Tilley has posted my song for June, its a Merle Travis tune called Saturday Night Shuffle. I'm playing it on the C6 tuning with a little thumb style pickin. Take a listen, hope you enjoy. http://www.etsga.org/playersongs.html

Excellent job Vernon, clean and crisp tone. That ZumSteel is a great sounding pedal steel.

Song input

Post by Bill Stafford »

Want to thank Charles Tilley for this site and all the work he does to run it properly.
Just discovered that he has inserted one of my favorite songs to play. Had the supreme honor of recording this song ,many years ago, on a CD with the great Herby Wallace and you can hear him in this cut of a Wade Ray song "I Was Just Walking Out the Door". I used an intro and ending of another Wade Ray song. Maybe one of you can recognize that. Hope so.lol
Thanks Charles for all you do for our steel guitar world.

An absolute fantastic job Charles on that tune, you really have a great Nashville sound. Charles Tilley has posted my new song for August, "The Grand Tour". I edited a midi file to create the backup music for this tune.

Hi Mike,
I spoke to Charles yesterday on the phone..... We also have regular Skype contact. I'll ask him about your tune,.....whether he got it. He's doing just fine, but I know he's been quite busy lately.

New song in the round up of Charles Tilley's Library here.

Post by Bill Stafford »

Hello, just submitted my efforts on a pretty song "Desperado" played on my Sierra Stafford Elegante' S-14. This is a solo version and I tried to use my bottom strings to just enhance the song. My 14th string here is an 080 E string. This song is typical of the way I was asked to play in the movie "My Own Private Idaho" starring Keannu Reeves and River Phoenix, directed by Gus van Sant. ("Desperado" is not one of the songs in the movie though).
Hope some of you can find some enjoyment here. Played on the E9 tuning with a high G# as my no. one string. Thanks for the insertion Charles.

Couple of new ?? songs posted

Charles Tilley has just posted two of my instrumental versions of "Rose of San Antone" and "She Thinks I Still Care" Thanks Charles. They are 'home' recorded on a Tascam and all backing is either my own MIDI compilation and guitar work. Played on GFI S10 E9 Universal tuning. Will try to post some others as time goes on.

Strangely enough, I pulled your gospel CD out today and listened to some of it. I have responsibilities as a dimensia caretaker of my wife and lots of things have taken a back seat.
I will try to do that for you as time allows.

Songs from players

Post by Charles Tilley »

If any other player wants to change his or her songs or add a couple, email me a MP3 file and I will get it done as my free time permits.
If you send a different format, it will take me longer since i will have to change the format to MP3
