Headstock and tuner buttons suggest the same factory as Klira and related German brands of the 50s and 60s. Kind of the Harmony of Deutschland.

German manufacturers may have produced a lot of strange guitars - but this one was made in Austria. The green label says "Made by A. Hasslwanter, Innsbruck".

b0b, you're right. I've never seen one like it on this side of the Pond. I wonder what kind of bracing it has. Looks like it's using a nut riser, and is a round-neck???
