Item 1: Friday Jam Session
Louie Hallford is coordinating the Friday Midnight Jam Session. For a slot on the jam, contact Louie at louiehallford@sbcglobal.net .

Item 2: Westin Hotel is now sold out of convention rate rooms.
Okay, as of 11/16/06, there are no more rooms available at convention discount rates at the Westin. Call the Westin and ask if there are any TSGA Jamboree rate rooms available. 972-929-4500.

Here are the numbers of hotels/motels very close to the Jamboree.

Sheraton Grand 1-800-345-5251. Recommended! Mention the TSGA Jamboree, there MIGHT be convention rates.

Red Roof Inn 972-929-0020 next door to the Jamboree

Holiday Inn 972-929-8181

Harvey Suites 972-929-4499

Comfort Inn 972-790-7979

Marriott 972-871-4200

Motel 6 972-570-7500

I should also mention that there's a DENNY'S RESTAURANT across the street from the Westin Hotel, so if you're without transportation you're not totally limited to the hotel's food offerings.

Whoa, thanks for the heads-up/reminder Herb - I just called and did manage to get into the Westin for March 9-10 at the TSGA Rate (which IMHO is a steal @ $70/night), so it may still be worth a call - but the Westin is definitely sold out of all rooms for March 8.

Just an FYI, the Sheraton Grand reservation office is only open 'til 7:00 pm Central.

See y'all in March...

There must be something else besides the Jamboree happening on the 8th. I called last week, and was surprised when I got reservations for the 9th-10th but was told it was sold out Thursday. It should be the other way around. Either way, thanks for the list of options, Herb. Red Roof Inn sounds pretty convenient.

According to the TSGA web site "The upcoming show will be held MARCH 8 - 11, 2007." March 8, 2007, falls on a Thursday. Are the dates for the convention correct?

Donny, the dates are correct. Vendors at the show start setting up, displaying merch, and selling stuff on Thursday. And the free Thursday "Talent" night concert starts in the early evening and goes on.

Please help me. I have been told several different names. If I walk out the front door of the Westin and turn left, what is the name of the motel that is at the end of the Westin?

Thom, The # for the Ramada Inn is 972-929-0066. I just got a room, but they charged me $69.95.

Guess I will have to check and see why I'm not as special as Fred!!!!!!

That is the right ph #. I started staying there back when it was a Comfort Inn and they had a program if you stayed a certain amount of nights per year they gave a better rate. When they changed ownership I hollered at the new rate and they continued the good rate. This year she told me $69.95 and I said wait a minute last year I paid $62-62. She said I will give you $59.95.I said I'll take it and got a confirmation #.Call them back and see if it works for you.

Don't any of you folks sell the Thursday night show short because I have attended that for 5 years now. Many of the talented players have advanced to the main show so that shows you what talent is presented. Buddy Bryant does a great job with his show.
The regular staff band backs some very good players so make your plans to be there if you are in your room by then.

I wouldn't miss this!
I made my reservations two months ago.
I attended TSGA for the first time this year and can't wait to go back.
I hope I don't spend as much money this time tho (1 Benoit resonator and 1 Superslide)
