Would be great for a cheese slicer. You even have enough extra top there to use as a chopping block.
Actually, it's cute, but not very practical. Wonder how it plays? _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . Playing for 55 years and still counting. |

Dang, I was going to buy it and have it shipped to my daughter and her husband in Huntingdon, UK as a surprise. The could use it as a piece of furniture until they move back to the USA.
Free collection obviously means they would have to pick it up. He has a truck, but that would spoil the surprise! _________________ 1974 Marlen S-12 1968 Tele 1969 Martin D-35H |

All the strings are taunt and in good condition and even to my untrained ear sound good. |
Well there ya go. We're being 'taunted...' |

Don't know if the currency converter I used is right or not, but the current bid is 10.5 pounds. This is what I came up with (Copied from converter website):
10.50 GBP = 16.4064 USD
British Pound US Dollar
1 GBP = 1.56251 USD 1 USD = 0.639994 GBP
Gee, at $16.41, how could you go wrong? _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . Playing for 55 years and still counting. |

It's on £102 with 45 minutes to go!
I didn't think it would make £10 ...
I wonder who is buying it? |

Who can say this auction isn't being bid up by a friend or relative of the seller! I've seen that happen more than once on eBay. You stop bidding because the price gets too high, and next week, the same item shows up again for sale. _________________ 1974 Marlen S-12 1968 Tele 1969 Martin D-35H |

Back in the 60s it was almost impossible to buy steel guitars of any kind in England. I know because I was living in Birmingham 1945-1980.
Like many others, I built my own lap steels and console steels. I once built a pedal steel, but, without a machine shop I built the mechanism out of wood and Meccano parts. As you would expect, it never stayed in tune and I went back to non-pedal.
This looks like it was home made by an enthusiast who couldn't get his hands on the real thing. That being so, it's not a bad attempt. |
