can anyone fill me in on the disadvantages of the pull boost feature on a silverface fender princeton reverb? was thinking of buying one. the seller tells me it has no effect in the off position, unlike a twin or pro. is this true?
posted this on electronics first, but no response yet.

There are many different opinions on this "feature" - I can't comment personally as I've only owned a blackface Princeton Reverb. (Man, I wish I still had that amp!)
If you're able to play the amp locally, try doing so. That's absolutely the best way to determine if this makes a difference to your ears.
Otherwise you have to rely on the comments of other players, such as found on the Harmony Central web site, or on the Vintage Guitar magazine bulletin boards.
