| As related to playing steel.I have 2,a 7/8 Dunlop 3 1/2 in. I got from Tommy Bradshaw & a John Pearse 1 in. drilled out to lighten the load & stuffed with toilet tissue.Why toilet tissue you ask?Have you heard me play? |

I talked to Mr.Stroud quite sometime back when he was still alive ,he was very nice person.

I have a BJS that I've had and used for a long time. I recently got a Bullet Bar and both are great bars. I use both but to be truthful I probably use the BJS more.
My wife uses a Bullet Bar with her GFI S-10. |

Great post. I was just considering branching out with more bars. I've always used an Ernie Ball that came w/ my 1st steel. Now that I've upgraded my PSG, Volume Pedal, Amp, Effects, Tuner, and my playing...I guess it's time to branch out with another bar or two. I've been considering a Dunlop but am really curious about the BJS, your comments will help.

I have 13 tone bars, but my number 1 is the BJS 15/16" Hughey Bar.

My tone bar of choice is a Sacred Steel model that I got from Billy Phelps at the ISGC in 2003. Before that, I used a Jim Dunlop bar, but the Sacred Steel bar works great for me because it don't slide around as much.

I use a Stevens Bar for six string and a Shubb-Pearse (#1) for eight or more strings.
I've got a lot of bars, including some home-made 'experiments', and I'm usually willing to try something new or different, but I always seem to rely on those two.
