I am really excited to let you know that my group, The Neighborhood Trio, has a new CD.
11 original tunes. I am playing 7-string weissenborn on all.
Here is a link to our site where you can hear a couple tracks from the record.
Before the CD is officially released online through CD Baby and iTunes... we are selling it ourselves at a discount. Just this weekend - $10, more than one copy - $7.50 each.
Thanks for your support.

I'm looking forward to this myself, Dan. I really like the combination of vibes, bass and steel guitar based on what I've heard from your website. _________________ Brad’s Page of Steel

Very cool sounds!
Don't see too many vibes players these days.
Tell us about your weissenborn please |

Hi Dan, My father was a vibe player... I was so fortunate growing up listening to the sounds of the vibes coming up through the ceiling vents from the basement when his combo ( bass, guitar, vibes, drums, and accordion) was rehearsing in the evenings after bed-time. He had an amazing set of Deagan Grands!
I have just ordered your cd and am very excited to hear the sonic treats. I have only been playing lap steel for a year now and I look forward to "new avenues" of inspiration as a result!

Thanks guys.
Jay, I really appreciate the order. It will go in the mail in the morning. Thanks for sharing the memories of your dad's group. I am using a John Pearse Hawaiian/lap steel bar.
Rick, My guitar was built by a friend of mine - Troy Marcio in Lake City, MN. Here is a link to an earlier post with some pictures.

Well... I have been playing your new CD while working in my pottery studio for about a week now and apologize for not letting you know how much I really enjoy it! While I have focused on playing western swing and old cowboy tunes for the last 15 years or so, I have moved more into more classic jazzy stuff with my treasured arch top guitar. I think it was the influence of my Dad's vibe playing that is finally coming to the fore. The last year or so, I have been learning to play lap steel and it's great to hear the fresh textures that you guys deliver to the listener!
Well Done! _________________ www.stoneslides.com is my Paloma Tone Bar and Bottleneck Slide web site

Hi Dan, how fantastic to hear weisenborn's being adapted so organically to sit so perfectly within our present cultures so many years after they were designed. Bravo Dan and your trio, looking forward to receiving your CD, some deep grains of truth in there amidst what can sometimes feel like torrents of bullshit within the hype infested organism we call 'the media' there you, got that off my chest then !! |
