celebrations

May 31, 1949... end of the month, traditional celebration of payday. 1949, the same year as modern China's birthday and victory by the Chinese Communist Party over the Nationalists; always a conversation starter here although the conversations now tend to center on MONEY, and which flash house or car to buy. :) stevet

September 5, originally a sore point as it was invariably the weekend before, or worse, the first day of school.

Now, close enough to Labor Day that I'm easily able to engineer a two or three day celebration of it, not the least of which is that going to work on my birthday is a rare event This fits very well indeed, as I've always thought that one's birthday ought to be a nationally recognized personal holiday, you know, day off with pay, and all that.

Well this Viet Nam veteran was born November 11,1944. With this year's date being 11/11/11,it had special meaning. veterans day and birthday all in one. Bob

I share one with David Crokett, August 17th. I just wasn't born early enough to be at the Alamo!
