NoCal PSG Club - Anybody interested

Post by Charles Fager »

Would any new or intermediate steel players in the SF-Oakland-San Jose Bay Area be interested in starting a Bay Area Steel Players Club? We could jam, network, and have guest instructors. Anybody interested? Any advice out there on how to set up such a club?...CF
[This message was edited by Charles Fager on 10 November 2006 at 06:29 AM.]

If some of the fellows have not met you ,Charlie,I would like to introduce
Charlie to all of you. A sincere learner,a 1st class person, and as honest as they come. I would Join what ever he is going to do,except I am too far away.
Good luck Charlie.

Charles-I would be interested-though at this point I'm already in the new S.F. Dobro Club formed by Brad. Couldn't make that first meeting because I was at the San Jose Steel Jam the day before, and both events wouldn't have flown with my wife for the weekend.

I have a long off again/on again background on dobro and 6 string lap steel, but I'm new to the pedals-bought a GFI several months ago but haven't had much chance to dive in yet due to work travel and other commitments regarding music-but I'm definitely interested in a pedal steel club.

Bill - Thanks to you for all of your support.. you have made me feel welcome to the Steel world and have helped me overcome a lot of my self conciousness about playing...you are a great mentor. It has been exciting to evolve as a player, but daunting to realize how far I must travel to become accomplished like you..Anyhow, the road there is fun so thats' the most important thing. You are a great example of the supportive people in this Steel world....CF

If you can include the north counties, count me in. Where would the meetings be?

In order to spread out and minimize travel time for participants, I was thinking that we might find a free venue in Southern Sonoma County; that would seem to be the easiest for everybody to get to....CF

Or maybe Vallejo? It's easy to get to from SF, East Bay, Sonoma/Marin and Sacramento.

After checking out the map, I think that my house in Novato (Marin County) is as easy to get to as Vallejo from all regions of the Bay Area. Easy from Sonoma, easy from East Bay over the San Rafael Bridge or 37 from Vallejo, and easy over the Golden Gate Bridge from SF and South Bay. The price is right, and I am sure that I could talk my wife into hosting it at my house if all of us agree. If we grow, I might be able to find a local church where we could fit more people. Does that sound workable?...CF
