We could make Mr. Hartley an honorary Texan. I enjoy watching his youtube videos.

I'm glad somebody added Albert to the list of Texans. He's just a couple of mile down the road from me and I've yet to meet him. Several guys I know speak highly of him.

Don't remember seeing Gary Carpenter, Ron Stafford, Ray Austin or Ronnie Miller on any of the previous lists. And little old me, tho' I fall toward the opposite end of the spectrum from the aforementioned. I do a little better on fiddle. I was born in Fort Worth in 1954; never lived anywhere else.

b0b - is there any way to query your database to determine the number of members where "Texas" appears in the "From" field in their profile? If it's an easy thing to do, it would be cool to know.

Thats right Junior, Gary was a great player and a great friend to many of us. His wife was from Lubbock, we had a lot of great conversations on his trips here. I remember the day he was inducted to the Texas Steel Hall of Fame. He had just gotten a new steel with a beautiful custom paint job! He really encouraged my son Jeremy to take the step that lead to his 8 years playing steel with Lone Star. Great loss to the steel community..

Lets not forget the others like, Jimmy Day, Tommy Roots, Tom Morrell, my father Wally Moyers Sr., Bobby Garrett... the list goes on....

Steel guitar players from Texas

Post by John Russell »

How many? More than the "number of ants on a Tennessee ant hill."

Did somebody leave off Cindy Cashdollar, Herb Remington and Steve Palousek? And what about. . .
