D 12 9&8 Dekley w/case

Post by Chuck McGill »

Bill Stroud's pride and joy D12 made for him. Great sounding and playing steel. Loaded with changes.
A bargain at 2000.00

Buddy Cage from The New Riders may be interested.
This looks like his old axe.

Chuck, I'll have to say that that's the nicest looking Dekley I've ever seen! It looks like the pickup(s) have a woodgrain cover on top of them or is that just a reflection?.......JH in Va.
Don't matter who's in Austin (or anywhere else) Ralph Mooney is still the king!!!

I agree Pete. This is probably as close as one can get to Cage's old axe without the help of Larry Hilt. It's been close to ten years, two guitars, and nothing seems to pass Buddy's litmus test....

Larry Hilt was the 'H' and I was the 'S' of "H-S Custom Signature". I have to say that this guitar is at least as nice as the one I built for myself. Bill was asking a lot more for it before he passed, and it was worth it. This is a great bargain basement price on an awesome guitar.

After I left Dekley and moved to Texas, Larry Hilt built a few "Hilt" guitars, one of which was for Buddy Cage. While there were a lot of design modifications from the Dekley, a lot of the external cosmetics were the same, or close to the Dekley.

I only got a chance to look at a Hilt once for a few minutes, and I don't remember what he changed.
