I moved to Houston in 1989, so I consider myself to be a Texan now.

My great grandparents on both sides of my family came to Port Lavaca, Texas, in the early 1900's. I'm 30 miles from where I was born (in Port Lavaca). For years, I didn't meet any other steel players, but through Jody and Billy's club meetings, I have met many wonderful players. Thanks!

Wasn't born here, but got here as quick as I could - moved to Abilene on the Bicentennial weekend in '76, and made it to Austin a year later.

Aren't company transfers possible?

Post by Ray Montee »

They sell Coca Cola in Texas.......

Perhaps you can arrange a 'transfer'?

We'd all enjoy having you here, closer to the rest of us. And, you can drive on the right side of the road, even in Texas.

Born and raised in Ohio but I have lived in Texas most of my life and I don't plan to leave. I tried to once but it called me back to San Antonio where I have lived since 1979. Where else can you find a plethera of 100 year old dance halls where people love to dance?

Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg?

Thanks Herb! I hesitated to make a list for fear of leaving folks out.

Steve P. doesn't count. That guy isn't human.....
Kidding aside, Steve is a great player and great friend. It is cool having him 20 minutes away!

I'm a TEXAN four months a year. My wife and I have spent our winters in McAllen for the last 12 years. "Guess that doesn't count though"
