I was just notified that Shady and Debby Mitchell were honored as Colorado City's Citizens of the Month for October. The Key to the City was even included. Hooray for the Mitchell clan. These folks have labored hard and long to keep "real country music" alive for this little piece of West Texas.
The C'City Opry has presented such folks as Curtis Potter, Hank Thompson, Frenchie Burke, Ferlin Husky, Leona Williams on its once a month programs. Not an easy thing to do and one would know that if they've ever been in the booking business.
Congratulations to Shady and Debby are in order from everyone who truly loves classic country, and great musicians. Thanks folks!!

| Thanks guys for the kind words, we were caught by surprise on this honor but we were very flattered in receiving it. The award was given for our efforts of bringing great country music to our city and our efforts to promote our city and intice out of town music lovers to visit our city. The pleasure of doing so has been ours, we have had the honor of meeting many great musicians and making many new friends along the way. |
