Conversation with Don Rooke, Part 1
I've just finished Part 1 of my Conversation with Don Rooke. Don is such an inspiring player and composer, i hope you all take the time to read it and get to know some of his music. There is tab/notation for one of his original compositions, Avenues of Forgiveness, included in the article.

The truth is that these conversations are very casual and there is no script, so very often we forget that we're doing an interview and we drift. In retrospect, some of it might not be very compelling or possibly even too revealing. Sometimes they forget that it's going to be published and in hindsight want to keep things off the record--not that there has been anything controversial or catty, but for professional reasons. This is mostly my fault because I'm not experienced with the interview process; however, it is what it is and what it is is a lot of work, so sometimes I have to just pull the plug.

Don Rooke Interview
Really nice job Mike!!!
For you Northern California folks...don't forget about the workshop Don will be having on Saturday Nov 5th between 2-5.
As you can see from this article, this is a rare opportunity to sit with a very unique lap steel player and see how he does it.
Details on this and the shows ThreeMetreDay will be doing in the Bay Area listed here: http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=213899
Also, you can hear ThreeMetreDay if tune into Freight & Salvage on Saturday morning (Nov 5) for the West Coast Live show and KPIG and KZSC on Sunday (Nov 6) for the Sleepy John show and Backroads respectively.
