Here's my new ETS. Larry Agan and Bud Carter at East Texas Steel have developed a very nice light-weight guitar at a great price. Mine is a 3 by 5.
Larry and Bud are friendly and attentive to customers' needs. I needed help getting mine set up and adjusted, and Larry made sure I got what I needed.
It plays and sounds so sweet!

Tommy...nice looking axe there, really suitable for all those looking for a lighter steel for "flying" requirements. I'm not familiar with Larry Agan or his work, but if he's part of the setup with Bud, then that's a winner. As most of us know Bud Carter is in the Steel guitar Hall of fame and a master builder, from M.S.A. to MCI, then EMCI then finally CARTER'S. I like the paintwork on there, and the Ali body and wood neck. You're on to a winner there. Is there a choice of pick ups or are they all fitted with GL's ??

Don't know about pickup choices. I bought what was in stock and ready to ship from a dealer here on the forum, Steve Whetstone. You could give him a shout and he'll tell you all about it. I'm satisfied with the George-L TW model that came on it.
And yes, Bud Carter builds great guitars. My first axe was a MSA Classic from the 70s with Bud's signature on the label. I knew I would be getting a professional-grade instrument. |
