While going thru a buddies equipment that he left when he passed I found an old homemade speaker cabinet with two JBL D130 15" 8-16 ohm speakers ser. # 10733 & 10714
They look and sound perfect, does anyone know how old they are and what they are worth. I am trying to help his daughter sell his stuff.

Thanks for any help.

Unclear if they are 8 ohm or 16 ohm from your description, JBL made both...if they are 8 ohm D130F speakers in excellent condition they will probably sell for around $150 per, if they are 16 ohm a bit less as not so many folks can use those.

If they are D130 and not D130F they are hifi speakers worth maybe $75 - $100 and best not used for instruments.

You can measure the impedance with a basic multi-meter. I had two of the same "8 - 16 ohm" labeled D-130Fs that I salvaged from some old Fender PA cabinets. They were chained in with a horn and a tweeter and measured on the high side - 13 or 14 ohm I think. Sounded fabulous in my Twin Reverb but caused it to run really hot.
