VIDEO Laney Hicks - Live

Post by Bill Ferguson »

Oct, 2004 I was honored to have Laney do a 45 minute set with me at the Bristol, VA show.
This video was taken with a camera about 50' back from the stage and just the camera microphone.

We had great fun that day joking back and forth with Russ about Laney staying on stage.
I will post some more footage later.
Enjoy

Bill:
I would appreciate it, if you would enlighten
us as a bit concerning Mr. Atchinson. In all
my years, I've never came across the gentleman.

Bill - I have been about 2 years, and have heard so much about Laney Hicks, but had never heard her live or otherwise, boy I have missed alot, she's everything everyone has told me, and more, what a great voice and great picking. She kind of has the Connie Smith voice, she nailed it. Thank you for sharing these clips.

Well funny you should mention Connie Smith.

Connie is Laney's idol and it shows. All your comments are TRUE.

Just posted a 2nd video from this same show.

I was there at the time. My wife and I were seated on the front row. Blue shirt and light
slouch hat. She doesn't have to sound like Connie Smith, unless she wants to. I have a CD which demostrates this. Of course she can nail Coonie. It is part of her act. Russ and Laney are tops at our house. (he is a WV son, you know)

WE purchased two complete VC's of the shows but this video is not part of them. So, these make the set complete. Thanks Bill.

Also for the info about your friend. I appreciate knowing a bit about him.
