Jody Sanders' Computer is down and he asked me to relay that fact and give a report on the recent meeting in Katy, TX.
Dan Kirby did an excellent job as the featured player on a Zum D-10. Great touch and tone.
The new players included Jim Saunders on a Mullen D-10; Finis Spear on a Zum SD-10; and Ronnie Burkes on a Zum D-10. They each did a couple of songs apiece and all did fine jobs.
The jam players were all of the above and myself on a Mullen D-10 and Jody Sanders on his Pedalmaster D-10. I did a short seminar on the X lever.
We also had several fine vocalists including Jac Rickman, Dennis Lobdell and Jeff Griffith.
The band was Jimmy Calhoun, myself, Elaine ? (don't know last name) and Billy Phelps on drums; Billy Phelps, Russ Rickman, and Ricky Smith on bass; and Jim Saunders on guitar.
A great time was had by all. The next meeting will be the first Sunday in November.
Thanks JC |

Jody, Thanks for the update. And, you are to be complimented for the teaching session that you provided. Use of the "X" lever. That was a great addition. Thanks. |

Thanks to everyone involved I have a great time. Jody's teaching made you really think about the expandablity of the X lever. Time to practice, practice then some more. God bless as keep everyone safe.

Dale,
as a close friend of Jody's, I'll give you my synopsis of the X lever.
Jody is not sure where the x lever is, so as the old cliche goes, "X marks the spot", that's where he puts it.
Just kidding Jody, as per my prior email for lunch, I guess I'll have to buy to make up. See you soon! |

Hey guys! I had a great time playing last Sunday. It sure is nice to have an organization like that here at home. I thought all the pickers and other musicians did a wonderful job and it seemed the crowd was entertained. I especially liked the x-lever idea as it makes a lot sense. Thanks for that Jody, now I just have to figure out how to change mine over. Jody Cameron is a monster picker and I sure enjoy hearing him play. It's nice to see steel pickers and other musicians just get up there and do it and not worry about anything except having fun. It's hard to get a chance to do that very often. I look forward to the next meeting.
