Problem is, I just never can talk my way out!!!BigB, I think you just talked your way in
Seriously though, this is a seminar I wouldn't want to miss just because I didn't get my name in the hat. It's not every day the big guys come around offering their services like this, and I wanted to take advantage of it.
Russ is one of my personal favorites, even though he hangs around Bill Simmons.
Or does Bill hang around Russ?
[This message was edited by Bryan Knox on 28 August 2006 at 06:38 PM.]

Jeremy, I bet if your very much a gentleman (which no doubt you are), Laney would be tickled pink to do that song. Heck, Russ may want to join in on dual steels; who knows. I do have a keyboard and fiddle lined up. I hope Bill Simmons gets in touch with some of those Jugtown Pickers to join us. I haven't gotten word yet. I'll get some more folks lined up by 10/14. Tyler said he'll sit in and play whatever when he's not on steel. I hope some more of you bring your "other" instrument to relieve whoever is in the back up band. I guarantee you I'll play my share of 6 string.
Just out of curiosity, how do we sign up for the seminar? I'm officially in along with Bryan. BUT, we can only accomodate so many for a seminar. I know Larry Hicks is in as well. I think we may have more wanting to attend than can be accomodated. AND, I'm officially in along with Bryan and Larry.
OK, Bill Simmons, Laney, maybe even Russ; curious minds want to know.
[This message was edited by Tim Bridges on 28 August 2006 at 07:15 PM.]

[This message was edited by Tim Bridges on 28 August 2006 at 07:16 PM.]

Everyone, Bill Simmons and I met last Friday (while most of you were in St. Louis)at the Jam venue. We mulled over a few ideas and came up with a pretty good plan; we think.
We agreed that time slots would be the best format. If anyone of you want to do dual steels, trio , whatever, let me know. The time slots will be 20 minutes. If one steeler is setting up while the other steeler plays, there should be minimal dead time in between sets. This will accomodate 18 steeler slots. Slots will be filled by request only on a first come first serve basis. Obviously, this may limit everyone from getting a slot at this jam. However, we will keep track of who did and didn't play this jam so that first dibs go to the ones who didn't get a slot at the next jam. The schedule will be tight, so it will be predicated strictly on a time basis. If you planned on 3 songs and played 2 real slow, well that's your slot.
The seminar can accomodate up to 30 steelers; maybe a few more. There is not a preregistration, just sign up at the door.
OK, the ground rules are set.
Here is the list of those who have signed up to date:
1. Bill Simmons
2. Tyler Hall
3. Tim Bridges
4. Jeremy Drawbaugh
5. Bob Simmons
6. Leon Champion
7. Rob Parker
8. Ricky Cottle
9. Russ & Laney Hicks
10. Don Lynch
11. Earnest Cawby
12. Dennis Sanford
There are 6 slots left. So, if you want a slot you need to let me know. Order of entrees will be maintained to replace cancellations.
Thanks and I'll have to say, this is gonna be a good un!
[This message was edited by Tim Bridges on 06 September 2006 at 07:54 AM.]

[This message was edited by Tim Bridges on 06 September 2006 at 07:55 AM.]

[This message was edited by Tim Bridges on 14 September 2006 at 04:47 AM.]

[This message was edited by Tim Bridges on 14 September 2006 at 04:48 AM.]

[This message was edited by Tim Bridges on 15 September 2006 at 07:06 AM.]

[This message was edited by Tim Bridges on 27 September 2006 at 08:18 AM.]

[This message was edited by Tim Bridges on 27 September 2006 at 08:21 AM.]

[This message was edited by Tim Bridges on 29 September 2006 at 08:50 AM.]

Dr. Rickles,
Yes, even people like me can attend the seminar. Seriously, Russ will be working with small groups AND individuals during the seminar. At least that is my understanding. Bill Simmons may elaborate more on this subject. BUT, I think I'm 90% accurate. Look forward to seeing you again. AND, just let me know if you change your mind about playing a slot.

Need a bump to check the PULSE of the ASGA members & non-members. Still have a few slots open for steelers. Anybody coming? How about a little feedback? Did you know Laney & Russ Hicks will be there? Did you know Russ will be holding a seminar that morning from 9-11 am? Did you know Laney will be performing alot? And yes, I hear that Russ will get to play a little also. So, how about it. Does it sound like something you plan on doing? Food, drinks, nice location, convenient...what else will you do?

Tim and ricky we plan to be there. Would like to be in the class but I cannot get anything just one time thru, but I would buy the DVD if one was made. I have to go over something over and over to learn it.
Ricky we enjoyed the visit to pratville with you and Bill simmons, very good night of music. That young singer of Hanks songs will give Don and his new singer a run for their money. You will have to get the kid a smaller guitar so we can see him. lol.
Would like a slot if one is open.
Also Pee Wee great time at your place Saturday thanks for having us.
