Emmons Course 1

Post by Herman Scurlock »

During one of the wife's cleaning sessions today she brought down a three ring binder and wanted to know if I needed it. I opened it up and to my surprise it was the Emmons course 1 (John Hughey) from the Emmons School of Pedal Steel Guitar. It carries a copyright date of 1972, I think I bought it in 80 or 81.
It contains, Hello Darlin; Fifteen Years Ago; You Wouldn't Know Love; The Key's in the Mailbox; Last Date; Take me as I am; Welcome to My World; Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain; I Wonder What She'll Think About Me Leaving; Next in Line; I Can't See Me Without You; I Love You More Today and Blue Christmas.
Now for the problem, the cassette that went with this course is long gone, (actually I think it was stolen from my van years ago) does anyone have this course cassette that would be willing to make me a copy? I would be happy to cover any expenses or make a forum donation in return.
If I have to I can use the Conway recordings as this course was what Papa John played on his records but if I could find a copy of the tape I could make the course complete again and not have to worry about vocals getting in the way.
This was kinda long, so thanks for looking

Emmons course 1

There is a chance that Forum member Louie Hallford just might have what you are looking for. He bought a few Emmons courses that I used to own, and it seems like I had that one.

I think I can help

I've got a 52 week Emmons Course. The last thirteen lessons are John Hughey and the song names match up. I've gotta assume the tabs are the same. The only problem is I copied these onto my hard drive to save the tape. Would a CD of the Steel and Rhthym tracks work for you?

E-mail your address to shobud10@yahoo.com and I'll try to get this out soon.

Dayton,
Sounds like they are likely the same songs. Digital copies would be great, emailing you now.
