Gulfport show

Post by Bill Stafford »

Bobby, Bill Ferguson is fifty percent correct. Dates are Nov 4th and 5th. Our schools here in Mississippi taught us that 5 follows 4. When Bill gets here, we can send him to school for that lesson. lol
The "eyes of Texas are upon us" these days. Just confirmed that the President of the Texas Steel Guitar Assoc. will be on our stage-ALBERT TALLEY! And Bobby Bowman already knows he has a five star welcome mat on this stage too. Let me know Bobby, if you can be here. WOW, that would be so terrific. These guys adding to our Mississippi music scene with Pee Wee Whitewing will bring the best steel guitar music in the world to our stage. Been waiting a long time for my friends here to meet and greet and hear the greatest this weekend of Nov 4th and 5th.
Start time Friday is 5 PM and at 11 AM on Saturday. VFW Post 4526, 15206 Dedeaux Rd, Gulfport, Ms.
Phone for the VFW is: 228 832 0017, my phone is 228-832 6454. I will have my cell with me on Friday, day of the show from noon till:228 669 0842.
Ramada Inn, Hiway 49, I-10 exit 34 to Gulfport, about 1/4 mile south of the interstate on Hiway 49, on the right. Call Sandra Lopez (Sales) at 818 653-6881 for the room reservations.
Just think folks-three of the best Western Swing players in the business-if Bobby Bowman is able to add to the mix. Let me know Bobby. Thanks to all. And should I be able to arrange for all these three to play a set, I will see if Jerry Ball (plays sax in the big Natalie Cole orchestra) will join them for some really good music. No half hour set for this calibre of music and players either. Albert, Pee Wee, and Bobby-you guys start thinking of a long set for us if it can be arranged. I know our audience and especially me will enjoy that.

Just saw Bobby's post. Bobby, come on down. Let me know with email to me at SChiefsan@aol.com and I will arrange the room res. for you and yours. This is such good news. Thanks , and it has been too long. Our welcome mat is longing for you to scrape your Texas boots on it-as long as you dodge those cow patties.

Great NEWS in that Bobby Bowman has just confirmed his presence on our stage. This will be one LARGE TEXAS appreciation weekend folks, right here in Gulfport, Mississippi. Have some nice plans for the musical pleasure of all in the house. Thanks to all in advance. Now, I will be able to work on the players list. Our supporting band members are some of the very best in the world. Will publish the schedule later this week.

Leon, got you and the"DOCK" covered. So glad for this. Doc Rickles has a long musical history here on our Gulf of Mexico. Be good to see and hear him in action, especially with you on your steel guitar. Glad you have a paying job Lonnie, but you will be missed. Anxiously awaiting Ray Harrison's appearance here on the Gulf Coast too. We have lots of southern hospitality to go around, don't worry.
