The American Society of Mechanical Engineers called me Months ago wanting to do an interview so I did. The ASME is the cornerstone of the engineering world. It was published this week as their feature article on tribology and currently linked on the top of their homepage. The author Michael Abrams is a steel and guitar player living in New York City.
Here are the articles on Tribology (mine is the 2nd down). Here's a direct link to the article Tribology at Work on the Strings This will likely make the print edition of Mechanical Engineering Magazine as well. Steel guitar in an engineering publication! Cool.

Way to go Eric! Lots of other neat articles there too. I feel for the gearboxes in those wind turbines! Thanks for making a great bar!

Congratulations, Eric. And now I know the origin of the Tribo-tone name, too. _________________ Links to streaming music, websites, YouTube: Links |

Thanks everyone! It does feel good to make the ASME;-) Some of you may know I work in the physics department at a local college. They're going to post it on our engineering web-page with a little blurb about the science. All the best of music Here's the 1936 PATENT for a little steel guitar history. _________________ Tribo-Tone™ Bars |
