I had one of those a few years ago. They were made for one year only, 1936 I believe, and they were only available in the Sears catalog (Sears, Roebuck & Co. back then). There aren't many of them out there. The one in the auction is way overpriced, more than double the market value IHO.

Michael, I was editing my post as you were entering yours. Yes, the Harmony is way overpriced. I bought one about five years ago for less than $300 and sold it for about $425.

I've seen a couple of these. Not a great player and they weigh a ton. Awfully nice wall hanger, though. This one looks in good condition but still way too much money.

Sure is an interesting looking guitar, kinda cool I thought. And of course it's from the very early days of electric steels, like about 4 or 5 years after the first frypans...
