From Larry Sasser

Post by Bill Ferguson »

On behalf of Larry "Wimpy" Sasser and his family, Larry asked that I post his gratitude for receiving the "2011 Hall of Fame" Award.

Larry was so sad that he was unable to attend due to health reason.

Larry is so appreciative of not only his award, but for the gracious way his family was received at the convention.

Good Lord willing, Larry will be back next year to do a duo set with JD Maness.

Congratulations to Larry. I'm sorry I also missed this years show and seeing the award presented. Larry's set was always a "must see/hear" for me. He keeps it country!

Larry

I was thrilled to see that Larry Sasser was inducted to the Hall of Fame, I wish him a speedy recovery. I met him when he held the steel chair with The KId Jerry Reed, they did a show in Fresno where I met him for the first time. He played his heart out and we spent time visiting before his next show, I told him about the Book I had by Winnie Winston and Bill Keith with his picture in it, he had never seen it, so I got it for him. He was glad to se it, he offered to buy it from me, I asked to meet Jerry Reed and he made it happen, I traded Larry my book for an 8X10 of all the band which they all signed, I still have it today. Larry sat in with our band after their show and played I love you Because in the style of Curley Chalker and when he hit that big chord my amp blew up with smoke and great fsanfare, we all laughed and kept on playing. Larry offered to replace the Peaver Session, I never felt that was needed the memory was worth the price of the amp. Get well Larry.
