Lately, using Google Chrome, I keep getting asked to LOGIN. It seems, so far, this is only happening on the SGF.

10 minutes ago or so, I went into my PROFILES & LOG IN and checked things out and reset it all.

So I'm yelping here because LOGIN popped up again, just now.

What gives? It's a pain.

That is a Cookies Allowed problem. Make sure that the browser is set to accept all cookies.

Wiz,

I think I set it up in Chrome to have the cache emptied after a Chrome shutdown.

The reason I did this was because the Washington Post Xword puzzle would not load (Java is involved here, too), and to clear out my temp files and cache; that might possibly be the answer to the problem. After I made those Chrome changes
the puzzle worked fine.

Is there a place I can check off the Forum as an exception to the cache emptying everything.

...Or is there another way to work around the WP Xword?

Thanks Wizardo...

Chipper

Chip;
Go to Settings > Options > Personal Stuff: Offer to save passwords (and the associated "Manage saved passwords")

Wiz,

Offer to Save Passwords is already binked; and the Forum is right at the top.

Just now, when I went to Reply, I got the login screen, again.

You have all the correct options selected. Perhaps you can try to login using a different browser. Close the browser, re-open it and see if it remembers your credentials.

I can tell you that Chrome remembers my logins, including for the SGF. Maybe you have a security program that eats your cookies?

Wiz,

I just tried SGF using FireFox and all went OK.

When I went back to Chrome, just now, I got as far as Post Reply, and had to Login.

All I use for security, is Trend Micro, MalawareBytes, and Secunia.

Uninstall Google Chrome. It must be a bad install. Download the newest version and install it, using default options. Use Admin credentials if requested by UAC.

Wiz,

By default, do you mean "don't change any options"?

Just now, in Post Reply, the Login page did
not appear.

But I'll do an UNinstl/REinstl.

Thanks, again, Wizardo

So far, this seems to have resolved the log-in issue:

Options/Under the Hood/Privacy/Content Settings/Cookies/"Clear cookies and other site & plug-in data when I close my browser".

I did have "clear cookies" checked; after unchecking "clear cookies" it seems to have done the trick, so far.

Just for the record. Cool

Professor Wizardo, you may at your discretion, bury the hatchet on this one. Smile
