Open Or Closed Back Outdoors?

Those of you who have experience playing steel gigs outdoors with both open and closed back cabinets, can you recommend one over the other? Generally, I prefer the sound of open back cabs, but wondering if the closed backs would carry better outdoors?

I'm a open back kinda guy....
If they mic the amp, thats even better.
If they don't I just play a little
louder than normal.

I like open backs. Closed backs enhance the bass response.

Outside I like either very well. I lean a little to open back though. I have both and as far as projecting or area coverage I don't really see a big difference outside.
