Kare,
I'll be playing steel with Billy Mata & the Texas Tradition www.billymata.com on saturday 08/27/11 @ The Stagecoach Ball room. http://www.stagecoachballroom.com/
We do mostly western swing and old country (Ray Price, Johnny Bush, Faron Young) Let me know if you are in the house. Come up and talk to me. You can hear samples of what we do on our website.

Kare, you should be able to find two or three additional bands in the Old Ft Worth Stock Yard area.
You will also enjoy some remanants of the 1800's cattle drive days as the stock yard area is on most people's "visit list". The worlds largest Honky Tonk' "Billy Bobs" is in the area. Can even buy yourself a $3000 hand made 80X beaver hat. At that price it will probably have a sterling silver buckle on it.
Might be lucky enough to catch a Junior Knight,Gary Carpenter, Jim Loesberg, Johnny Cox et al gig ,close enough drive to.
Go to Gary Carpenter's Steel Guitar website I think it still goes by the founder's name "Rains Steel Guitars" Gary probably can tell you who is town.. as he has been in the area for years,a super guy, you will think you met a real Texas "Howdy Neighbor" cowboy. A real Gentleman

More plans!
Hello again!
We are arriving Saturday the 24th of September and will go to Arlington Music Hall and see the Johnnie High's Country Music Revue with Reece Anderson.
Sunday night we will be available to see and hear some good country music.
Also Tuesday night the 27th. Any ideas?
A couple of years ago we visited The Finish Line just outside Dallas. Does anyone know if this still is open?
We are in the Dallas area until the 28th, maybe we can go to Austin if there is good music there.

Wednesday night at Pearls Dance Hall in the stockyards go listen to either Tommy Hooker or Chad Rueffer and the Superpickers at 7pm, they alternate wednesdays, it doesn't get any better. Go to pearlsdancehall.com
the Finish Line is still open but I don't think they have as complete a line of performers as they used to have go to thefinishlineclub.com

Gary Carpenter is with Landon Dodd at the Finish Line on Tuedays nights now. Go see him. He just started doing that gig with Landon.
Wed the 28th Gary will be with Tommy Hooker at Pearls.
I'll be at the White Elephant on Sat the 24th, and at Pearls on Sun the 25th for the "After the Show" Joe Bielenski anniv party. Unofficial, but there will be a ton of pickers out.....

Yes. Joe will be doing his anniv show on the 25th. Details. There will be a bunch of pickers at Pearls towards early evening and it usually builds up with more as his show winds down... kind of an unofficial "after-the-show" party.
I'll be there. Also, I'm working the day before, 24th, at the White Elephant in the Stockyards, if you're roaming around. My Friday gig is a private party.
Roger Edginton will be at Pearls with Billy Mata the 24th also. Gary Carpenter will be at Pearls on the 23rd with Steve Stewart.
Carp will be at Finish Line Tue 27th with Landon Dodd and at Pearls Wed 28th with Tommy Hooker.
Bobby Flores will be at Pearls on Sat Oct 1st if you're still in town.
Looks like Robert Earl Keen is at Billy Bob's on the 30th, backing up Marty Muse on steel :)

I'll be with Doug Martin and the Rustlers at Silver Strings in Bowie Texas. Great dance music. A great facility and great people there. If you like traditional country with Ray Price, Haggard, Jones, Gene Watson, mixed with some good old Bob Wills, you'll love it!!!

I don't know why everyone outside of Texas thinks Austin is the place, y'all have a lot more going on in the Metroplex than we have here in Centex!Danny Naccarato wrote:Yes.
