I saw in the newspaper that Connie Smith will be performing Saturday at the Disc Exchange in Knoxville to promote her new CD. Anyone know if she is working with her band doing these type promotions, or if it is an acoustic only set, or perish the thought, done with recorded tracks?
Maybe she'll lip sync her CD. What an awful thought that is, but you never know these days. Connie will be at Country Tonight in Pigeon Forge on Sept. 23 with Gene Watson.
It was a really good show. Connie only sung about a half dozen songs but they were great! She was backed up by her guitar player Rick Wright playing acoustic. Rick is really an awesome guitar player. There was a good crowd which surprised me since I had not seen much publicity.
It was very good. None better than Connie. She is still country and I let her know how I appreciated that fact and for keeping the steel guitar up front in her songs.
Her new album is country with great picking by Gary Carter and Robby Turner.
