Mullen Royal Precision SD-10 - New - Red
Hi all,
Well, you ask me to get them. It took a while, but they are starting to arrive.
I am an authorized Mullen dealer.
As a lot of you already know, I will not offer or advertise a Pedal Steel Guitar that I do not have in stock or that is not ready to be shipped to you.
Here is what I have.
A brand new Mullen Royal Precision in the new Mullen Red Mica color. Three pedals, four knee levers, Emmons setup, Mullen pickup, case, and Mullen factory warranty.
My price of this new Mullen is $2,911.00 plus $65.00 shipping in the lower 48.
No wait, in stock and ready to ship.

It is not the price. That is a very good price for this guitar. A Royal Precision can last a guy a lifetime. Mullen guitars are built to last.
Another note, we have not raised our prices since 2008. We have been trying to be more efficient around here to keep the prices from increasing even though they have on our end quite a bit.
All I can say Steve, the right person hasn't seen it yet. Brand New guitar, should move. I don't see the need for negative comments on any guitar that people work their butts off to produce for the fine steel community.

Is it the Price?
I don't believe it is the price. The Mullen price is comparable or even better than the other top brands for a SD-10. I say OTHER top brands because I believe that Mullen is top of the line. It is just this stinking economy. No one has any extra income for the toys. My opinion is that it will get worse before it gets better. Manufacturing in this country is about extinct. The ones who do have money sent the manufacturing plants overseas to make more money. Now we are in trouble and the ones who own those plants do not want to bring them back for fear of smaller profits. The rich keep getting richer, and everyone else...well.....no wage increases and the cost of living is going up. Sorry about the preaching.
That Mullen is beautiful, by the way.

i didn't say it wasn't worth the price, just that evidently no one wants to pay the price.
quite frankly, one of the best steels i'd ever heard or seen was a red rp d10 that a friend had. it seemed perfect to me right out of the box.
the problem now is that with the g2 being hyped so much it makes the rp seem like an obsolete model. but that's a marketing problem brought on by mullen themselves.
these aren't negative comments, it's just what i've observed.

In my opinion the G2 is a the best guitar I'v ever owned. That says nothing bad about the RP... I have a new G2 and a new RP side by side and they both sound and play great! The G2 is around $1,000.00 higher! You can listen to all the Dixie Chicks CDs and the steel is all played on a Mullen RP guitar... It all comes down to the player (in this case Lloyd Maines)... So if anyone out there is holding off because they think the RP is inferior, fear not, they are amazing guitars. As far as marketing goes I think Mullen has done just like any good business does. They now have three price points and three great products! It's like cars and airplanes, how fast do you want to go?
