Questions for Guitar Collectors

Post by Earnie Sumerall »

I have this Oahu guitar and amp that I have had for years in storage and may sell them later.
They are in original shape and the strings are the same as came on it new. I last played it in 1945. The amp needs a new power cord as it has deteriated over the years.
I would like to know the year it was made and an estimate as to its value. It looks like one that was on e-bay and advertised as a 1939 model.

I've got the exact same amp and guitar and paid $350 5 years ago on Ebay, I thought I got an excellent deal at the time.

I have several sets branded differently. In my experience the guitars with volume and tone controls were the versions made just before wwII stopped production ca '41-'42.

Yeah, $350 sounds about right, I always say that they had to skin 2 clothes hampers (or toiler seats)to get all that Pyrolin! - Jack
