BMI S10 E9 3+4 For Sale

Post by William Johnson »

My black BMI S10 E9 3+4 is For Sale at $900.00 + S&H from Zip 30458. I have reworked it over the last several years, and is good steel on stage or an excellent student steel. I installed a few BMI improvements purchased from BMI. It has great single coil tone with very minor tuning and movement issues, mostly in the RK levers. It has Sperzel tuners installed. Standard leg length. The case is beat-up, but works, has a leg bag, with normal cosmetic wear on the guitar.

I use a basic Emmons 3+4 setup, except maybe my RKL also raises the 2D# > E.

Would be an excellent choice for a new player or someone moving up from a student model on a tight budget. I have the serial number if needed (from memory I think it is #687). BMI is considered a professional steel and the manufacturing plant is located in Arkansas.

I will email additional photos of the steel upon request. It is located in Statesboro near Savannah, GA. If interested, please email me with offer or pricing info.

BTW: It is listed on eBay if you rather buy it that way. If not hurry so I can cancel the eBay listing ASAP!

Thanks,

billy

I am not avoiding y'all but I am trying to resolve newly found problem of not being able to RKR 2D# > C# accurately. With RKR active, I am currently able to tune down almost to the desired C# (slightly sharp).

If interested I have a thread active in the Pedal Steel section of this forum.

Anyone interested in purchasing my BMI, please email me and will get back to everyone ASAP. I would prefer not to sell the BMI with a known RKR issue unless I can not help it and of course, the buyer is aware of it also.

Please note the photos inserted into my initial posting above.

Thanks for your patience.

hi billy,
I've noticed the same thing with my BMI S-10
can't quiet get it down to c#. Not only that but it pulls the changer finger way out and theres spring noise,I've called the owner of the company about this but i've not heard back from him. I just drop to D it works for me. I Had the same problem with my previous BMI s-10. I noticed in the pictures that it looks like you have an additional bracket that the changer springs are attached to. I wonder if it was built like that? It would alleviate the spring noise because the springs wouldn't drag against the bottom frame on the long pulls.

Lee, I added an upgrade to my BMI, that allows for weaker but longer return springs. It's basically a dog-leg (L) shaped bracket that extends the return spring anchor point out under the hex tuners about 1/2". It helped the over playing. Don will mostly have one for sale or I could make for you is necessary.

Frank, No not giving up on the steel, but interested in playing a new CNC machined steel. I am looking at Infinity, Williams and Mullen so far. Due to the high price tags, I will have to sell my BMI. My BMI is good guitar, with the RKR drop to C# being the only issue.
