I want to thank Scotty for giving me billing on the ISGC Schedule...what a pleasant surprise for me....and bit of a disheartening shock for Russ. You can imagine how hard it was for me to point out that "my" set is quite a bit longer than "his" too.

Thanks to Scotty, it's called:

LANEY HICKS' OPERATION RUSSLESS

And it's going to happen right after the Dinner Break at 8:00p.m. on Saturday night.

I'll be exposing each of the bad boy Pranksters who played the ultimate trick on poor, unsuspecting Russ at the onset of our Operation Russless Contest by sending in their own amazing entry tapes under "alias names" from various states! I have quite a lot to reveal about the "anonymous identities" these characters pulled off; believe me, they're not only creative musically...they have quite an imagination otherwise, as well!
One by one, they'll be playing their "illegitimate" entries into our Contest! I'll also be sharing Russ' classic responses to those entries....as long as everyone promises to protect me from him over the weekend.

And, by the way: WE WILL HAVE SOME SPECIAL CONVENTION EDITION COPIES OF THE OPERATION RUSSLESS CD'S AVAILABLE FOR SALE AT OUR BOOTH. YOU DO NOT WANT TO MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY TO HAVE SUCH A COMPILATION OF MANY OF OUR GREATEST PLAYERS.

You won't want to miss the "Surprise" Finale Performance. Trust me on this....that's all I'm going to say..............okay, I'll give you a hint...the Operation Russless Prank was not my first "Russless" experience.......................

See you in St. Louis.

I Love Ya, Scotty!!!

Yes, they are, Randy. You know, they're the twisted, "split" personality of a steel player we both know. In "his" case, it took more than one alias to "embody" his dementia.

Laney,I was just wondering, could you use Kenny Picket on electric take off gitar. I thought maybe you might bring Claude Nails. If you do I can second him. Kenny

I happen to know that Kenny Picket "can", and yes, I was already counting on him for hot lead take off gitar. That Claude Nails guy gets on my nerves.

Mike,
That's right! And let that be a lesson to all you "big, strong men"...if you won't come to the aid of your damsels in distress, we'll fend for ourselves...and you know what they say about a woman scorned...or really irritated...somebody's gonna get hurt!
I just thought of something...out of all the "musical equipment" we have in the house, there are no microphones! Hmmmmm...and I always thought Russ wasn't afraid of anything...

Laney,

Congratulations on your featured set at Scotty's. You were doing fine with this thread, but you really shouldn't have followed "...that's all I'm going to say" with another sentence. BTDT!

See you at Scotty's

Was Claude Reins the singing stagecoach driver that never made it through bobcat gulch?
