I playa rick frypan a jerry byrd frypan and a JB model dbl 8 excel. IMHO the jb frypan is alttle superior to the rick(good grief I will hear about that statement) and the excel dbl 8 is the best I ever had and I've played em all or just about. I believe the excel fryoan is not as soft as the jb frypan

I play a JB Excel double 8. I am not a pro and have only been playing about a year. I am very pleased with the tone and construction of the guitar. It also stays in tune well. I play through an Ampeg vh-140 solid state amp. Mr Johnson, What type of equipment do you use?. Will you attend the St Louis convention this year?. Would be nice to meet another Excel player there.

Bill I sure hope I can be in St Louis. It will all depend on the bands scheduel. I use a nash 400 or a peavey LTD, Goodrich pot pedal, and a profex 2.Just depending on the acoustics of the place we are playing is what eqipoment I take. If I need to take the profex I just use the power amp in the peaveys. If I don't take the profex I use a goodrich matchbox to help the tone in some places.
