RIP Bill.

A fine gentleman who was always so nice to visit and chat with.

I will always treasure the two bars that he crafted.

I am so sorry to hear this. I always enjoyed talking to Bill at the St. Louis show. He produced the finest bars, and had a great attitude.

My condolences to his family on this sad day.

I'm very sorry to hear of this bad news - although I never met him, I had purchased some items from him shortly before his diagnosis and he was a true gentleman. Sincere condolences to his family and many friends.

I'm very sorry to hear this-I only knew him from buying bars, but each time we ran into each other at TSGA, he greeted me like an old friend.

My deepest sympathy goes out to all Bill's family.
Everytime I play steel with a B.J.S. bar in my hand he will be with me in spirit. I'm sure that many players here (like myself) who have used them for many years will feel the same way.

So sad to hear the news.
I have fond memories of Bill
I met Bill in Dallas 2010.
He insisted on buying me a cappucinno and talk steel.
God Bless Bill.

Our thoughts, prayers, and condolences to the Bill Stroud family. Bill always had the time to chat with you on the phone. He went great lengths to share his setup with me and send photos of his guitar. We are very saddened by his passing and he will be added to our Heros Gone tribute page. What a wonderful person he was. If you wish to add to Bill's site, please email the information to me. http://www.joemcham.net/Heros/Bill%20Stroud/index.htm

Our little community has lost a friend, a player, a character and a craftsman. Anyone who owns a BJS bar should give thanks for the life and talent of Bill Stroud and be inspired by his desire to make something for us which was practical, of matchless quality and an item to be owned and used with pride.

My most sincere condolences to Bill's family and friends.
The steel guitar is a hard mistress. She will obsess you, bemuse and bewitch you. She will dash your hopes on what seems to be whim, only to tease you into renewing the relationship once more so she can do it to you all over again...and yet, if you somehow manage to touch her in that certain magic way, she will yield up a sound which has so much soul, raw emotion and heartfelt depth to it that she will pierce you to the very core of your being.
