I am posting this as a public announcement of my gratitude to my friend and steel-guitar idol, Terry Bethel, for allowing me to share the stage with him and such great musicians. The backup band was indescribably great and followed my charts without a single hitch. More importantly, I want to express my gratitude to Terry for giving me the opportunity to visit with so many of my old friends and steel-guitar heroes such as DeWitt Scott, Russ Hicks, Joe Wright, Fred Justice, Buck Grantham, Mike Sweeney, and, of course, steel-guitarist/vocalist Rob Parker.
I was very proud to have Miss Lana introduce my segment of the show; she must have done some thorough research to gather so much information from my background.
The Baldknobber’s Theater was fantastic. The huge stage and the acoustics and sound system were perfect for the event. The large lobby was ideal for our sales tables. The large dressing room with hot coffee and donuts all day was a welcome feature. The huge auditorium had very comfortable and spacious seats – as do most of the Branson venues. It was a real honor to perform before such a large and receptive audience. And the stage hands who worked so hard unloading and loading equipment for everyone and switching out gear as each player took his turn on stage are due a big “Thank You.”
Terry Bethel did an outstanding job of arranging for everything and coordinating the wonderful event. He had obviously spent many, many hours setting it all up. He ran a “tight ship” and kept everything surprisingly close to the schedule. Terry is one of my favorite people – not only because of his great steel playing and unique style, but also because he has such a congenial and gracious attitude and is one of the most generous people Laurie and I know.
All in all, Terry, the annual Ozark steel guitar show was a great success, as one would expect with the show having been produced and managed by you.
Many thanks, our friend.

Mitzi and I agree with everything you said Roy . Terry is a great player and most of all a great person. He is a brother to us all. And that band!!!!!!! The band got a standing O on my set and I can't believe they let me set in with them. They get all the credit, I was just hanging on for dear life. We want to thank everyone at the show and Venda and Jerry Hanley for making a wonderful weekend that we will remember for many years to come. Love , Buck & Mitzi |

Roy,
It was a pleasure having you here at the Branson Jam. You were a big part in helping the Jam be the success that it was.
