It's that time of the month again. San Antonio Area Steel Guitar Jam Session will be Sunday, July 24, 2011 at the Helotes VFW Post #7108, in Helotes Texas. Hours will be from 2 pm until 5 pm or longer if we have enough to show interest in playing longer. No food will be available but the VFW canteen will be open to serve your favorite beverages.
Bring your instruments and enjoy the fun. Please be at the VFW early so you can be ready to play at 2 pm. Also bring any related item like guitars, amps, cds, etc you want to sell or trade. Please nothing that grows, smells, or eats. Call me if you have question....Joe Rouse |

We had a great jam session with 5 steel guitar players, Carson Wells, Bill McCumber, Ken Metcalf, Dave Goodman, and Owen Barnes. Brian Folks is our drummer and wowed us all. We had singers...Carson Wells, Nancy Kozur, Ken Piper, Patti Wood who sings great and sang harmony on several songs and plays bass, and Rob played bass and sang. Sam Hughes and Ken Piper on rhythm guitars, Ken Piper, Teal Piper and Nancy Kozur on fiddles, John Biershwahl and Rob also played bass. I know I'm leaving someone out. We appreciate these good people coming out and making the jam a success. I counted 55 people and was interrupted before I finished my count so we had 60 or close to it including players.
Our next jam session will be August 28, 2011 at the Helotes VFW Post #7108 from 2 pm until 5 pm. Come out and enjoy the fun. The VFW Canteen is open to sell your favorite beverage but no food is available.
