" plus Gary Carter ,on the Steel guitar "
Hello , Gary sure sounds great on the show with Marty and the guys. His tone seems so clean and bright. His playing is always amazing!
Awhile back some one referenced the Fender amp the Gary uses on the show. Would like to know if any body knows what amp that is ?
Seems like it's a Hotrod Deluxe, or Hotrod Deville or possibly the Blues line

Marty Stuart will be here this weekend, 16th, but I don't see Gary Carter in the advertising. Does he travel with Marty Stuart?

It is easy to play the steel guitar. Playing so that the audience finds it pleasing is the difficult act.

altho ..... it seems funny that he can't use a PEAVEY ...... as they also are a sponser on the show (ie ...... customized monitor cabinets and maybe other sound gear )
maybe ...... LeRoy Troy should pick a Fender banjo too , instead of his old Gibson .
and then get a old Fender steel .... and.......

Marty got Gary to try the Hot Rod Deluxe to kind of approximate that "Mooney" tone. Gary really likes the amp, but he uses a Peavey too. Doesn't matter what he plays through, he still gets a great tone as far as I'm concerned HAHA!! He is going with us in a couple of weeks to Canada. we will do 2 or 3 dates up there with Connie so he will come along to play for her. Looking forawrd to it. Connie's new CD will be out in August on the Sugarhill label. It's a steel player's record I can promise you that. Gary, along with Robby Turner will make you smile whenever you hear it. She is doing 3 nights at the Country Music Hall Of Fame in August and September. One will be titled "Connie and the Steel Guitar". It will feature Gary, Robby Turner, and the origianl man behind the Connie Smith sound Mr. Weldon Myrick. I will be there playing tic tac and drooling HAHA!!
