Rickenbacker console doubleneck

I have a Rickenbacker double neck and can't find much info on it.
Guessing it is early 60s. Anyone have an idea of its value?

Nice. I have its baby brother (single neck). I paid about $300 for it a few years ago.

Those are awesome early/mid 50s era steels, and dbl. 8s would easily be worth 1 1/2K, to me. Your's is probably somewhere under that only because 6 strings are generally less sought after, however big name sellers could ask for the moon. It is a sweetie. Even though they are nice guitars, Rickenbackers don't bring the money that the Fender D8s etc do, and being a D6 makes it less desirable for buyers.
Of course if you want to keep it and play it, the value is a moot point, and that one is in really good condition.

One of your own SGF members sold a Dbl-8 just like the one you have photographed in this post a little over a year ago for somewhere close to $1,000. I think it was advertised here on the Forum. You might want to check that out.

That is a mid 50's model. I had a blond double 8 like that- traded it for a Fender Custom. It was an outstanding guitar, and i'd still have it if I could have afforded to just buy a triple.

I'd love to own another someday...the value is hard to say- like someone noted above, they don't really have the collector value of Fenders, but there are guys out there(like me) who would pay a decent price.

I know the Dbl 8's are called a DW-16
It's probably a DW-12.
Great guitars. I'd think its worth somewhere around $800- 1000

D-6 models with legs are more desirable among rock guitarists than steel players. Steve Kimock, for example, plays a D-6.

The advantage of this particular guitar is the wonderful Rickenbacker horseshoe pickups. I'm drooling over the picture just thinking about it. I agree with Todd about the value ($800-$1000). You can probably reach that ballpark on Ebay. Here on the Forum it would have to be priced slightly lower to sell quickly.

Looks like a 1955,56 or 57, great guitar, can't think of a better D-6. The serial number would help nail down the date

Yours is a 1956, Rickenbacker's 25th anniversary
An earlier 1954 D-6 just sold on Ebay for $550.00 but it had no legs and the case was re-carpeted inside
