pre or post eq patch

Post by Chuck Roach »

I know the subject has probably been discussed before but I am not having any luck with the search engine.
I have a peavey 112 and a pedal board with five effects. Zoom G2, DD3,RV5,Bobro,and DOD analog delay. They are hooked together with a daisey chain and powerd by a one-spot. My question is do I run the pedal board through the pre eq patch or the post eq patch. I have used it just through the regular input and I get a lot of hum. I tried it through both patches and they both work with very little noise, but which one is the best to use.
Thanks for any help

I would use the post EQ myself.

It's your choice, Chuck. It just depends on whether you want the amp's EQ controls affecting the sound before the effects, or after the effects.

Personally, I agree with Curt...Post EQ might work best...because you'd be using the EQ to shape your guitars sound before it hits the effect pedals.
Best regards,
Mike

Peavey recommends the pre-EQ patch for volume pedal (pot style) use.
