I'm sure this topic has been ran around the block a time or two but here goes. I very seldom play out with my steel but I need to insure it as well as another acoustic against "theft, fire & damage" wherever I'm at with it at any given time. My daughters violin is appraised at $8500 and can be placed on a policy by itself because it is used in a professional symphony setting and NOT a bar where a fight could break out at any moment. I DO NOT want to place it on my Homeowners Policy because that has a deductable on it which would make replacing some instruments a waste of time price wise. When I was in the Nashville Local Musicians Union I had it insured through something there. Sooooo, those of you that do play out on a regular basis, how do you insure your stuff? If you do.
Thanks

I have an insurance policy through Music Pro Insurance. I pay $10 per every $1000 of coverage--instruments are covered, whether at home or on the road, although I think they may not cover instruments left unattended in a vehicle. They cover my office and studio equipment, too. Many others use Heritage Insurance.
