Just to let you know about our first ALL DAY jam which will take place in the function room of the Europa Hotel on Saturday 1st July 2006.There will be a backing band consisting of us and friends. We can use rhythm tracks too if we are stuck.
If practical we will arrange food......or a BBQ ..... weather permitting! Lenny the new manager is making the room available for the whole day.The room has twin French doors so we can enjoy the sunshine during the breaks. The cost is NIL unless we arrange food.Previous jams (12) have been held here on Wednesday nights or all day in Pat Orpens place in Waterford.
This is your chance to join in and jam all day,so please mail me a reply if you plan to take part.
I will send you on a loose schedule for the day.

NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH THE IRISH STEEL GUITAR FESTIVAL WHICH IS TAKING PLACE IN OCTOBER 2006

Regards

Phil

I'm Irish, and I'm a steel player too, so does that mean I qualify for this event? Smile

Just a reminder that the All Day Jam is on Saturday.
So get the steel out of the shed, bus, attic, river, pawnshop, dumpster,
incinerator.whatever….and change the strings. Its going to be
fun. Thanks for all the funny posts.Crowbear I think the doors
you mention are on all the Irish Pubs! Bill you should be nearly here on that
pushbike now and Danny you’re OVERqualified for this event.

Best Regards

Phil

Hey Phil !!!...just send me the Plane ticket and I will be there..dont worry about accomodation..as I can stay with the O'Keefes in Ballyduff....or across the water with Archie Nicol....even Alan Thompson or Jim Gorrie....its no problem........and I will feel quite comfortable there as I can speak Garlic

The Summer Jam was great fun as they always are.We had 8 players which sounds
paltry but it is a good turnout for this neck of the wood (pardon the pun).
Joe Ryan played the nicest rendition of How Great Thou Art and mesmerised us all.
It is going to happen same time next year so try to come along if you are nearby.
Baz, thanks for the good wishes. If you arrived we would have been happy to listen to you play ALL DAY! The first steel album I bought and still have is one of yours. It has
The Castle of Dromore and Body and Soul on it among other great tunes. I love the
Hawaiian sound too. Tony ,I know you would fit right in.Wouldn’t it be great ,you could show me a guitarlick in garlick. Alan and Jim ,how about organising one in the Highlands and see if we can join you guys for a jam.

Hi Phil,
Russ and I were just in the studio with Charlie McCoy working on an Irish project which will be released in a few months. The music is hauntingly beautiful and makes me want to be where such sounds originated. I am hopeful that this project may result in an opportunity to "visit" Ireland and see you folks there sometime.

Best to all the Steelers,
Laney

Absolutely delighted it went so well Phil, Pat and myself will probably come to the next one you organise, PROVIDING I am free. If I know the date far enough in advance, I can arrange to take time off from my "Brolley" gig.
If it's around this time next year I can take in a little dry fly fishing on the Blackwater near Kells or by the 9 eye bridge in Virginia. (Some lovely 'North American Brook Trout' lurking in the runs and pools)
