Hello,
For anyone interested, Jake's new CD is ready for order. It features the great steel playing of Dicky Overbey on all the cuts except the one Rick Price (also great) plays on. Of course my buddy and fiddle genius Bobby Flores is all over this one as well. The great John Schattenberg joins Bobby on a tune too.
Entitled "Faded Lights" it is hard-core, traditional Country with one or two slight departures, just for variety.
Jake is at his best vocally and on the upright bass. There are even a couple of his own tunes.
Amber Digby sang back-up vocals and is featured on a duet with Jake. Her singing will flat knock you out.
Jake's dad, Tommy (also a steel player) sang fantastic harmony, Randy Reinhard (steel player)did his usual superb piano playing.
Dave Biller (another steel player)is on lead guitar and just bleeds good taste.
Jeff Croy and I (steel owner) shared the drumming duties.
As you might have gathered, this is an album by steel players and for steel players. Did I mention that Jake is learning to play steel? Amber, are you next?
