Allright, here we go! The Central Oklahoma Pedal Steel Guitar Club's 1st meeting will be on June 24th, Sat, noon till 8pm, Tuttle-OK at the roundup club. This is a Jam-in and organization meeting. All "sliders" are welcome seasoned as well as the new nervous guys...we will help you overcome that soon! By the way this is a family event and the public is welcome to view and drool! I will have a BBQ/drinks available. Send me an email to confirm your attendance so I can plan accordingly. Hope to see you there!

Bob, How far is that from Minco, I've lived in Minco for 40 years and never heard of Tuttle. If I can find it will try to be there. I bet we can get it announced on KKNG. Let me know. Will talk to Lynn, James, and Joe. They will probably all give us a plug.
Just kidding about Tuttle we used to beat them in football every year.

Gene I wish you had a "real" email address so I could harrass you directly . Are you gonna try and be there? If so i'll get a do-nut cushion and have Oxygen there (in case of anxiety attack or something)Bring yourself out to this and give us desperate bar-droppers and pedal crushers some advise!

Bob,

Gene has been there and done that 3 or 4 times over. He would be a great addition to your show. So beg, plead or do what ever you have to do to get him down there.

Bob, my apology for the missing e-mail address....I stopped publishing it when the data-miners finally got my spam up to 300+ a day. I've sent it to you in another e-mail.

Having oxygen available is a nice touch and appreciated, however, I already have a donut. I was issued one when I was the budget officer for the Oklahoma City Fire Department.

Here's hoping for a sucessful 24th! I'm looking forward to meeting in person some of the musicians that I've only talked to by e-mail.

EDITED to acknowledge Jerry Horner's comment. We were apparently typing at the same time! Where ya been big guy. Bob, Jerry is a fine steel player whose work I have admired since we were just youngsters.

Gene,
I have misplaced your email address as well. Please send it to me also.
I'm really looking forward to seeing you again and stealing some of your licks.
I also noticed that Jim Harper was going to be there. I have never heard Jim play but someone that old and has played as long as he has is bound to lay some smack down.

I sure do wish I lived closer so I could
attend this event. I would have to drive
all the way from Rogersville, Alabama but
if I could get enough gas money I would make
the trip. I'm certainly not soliciting
monetary support for the trip but would
accept all donations. hahahaha.
Jim
By the way!!! It would be worth the trip
just to see and hear Jim Harper. He is
a super fantastic steel player on both necks
and sometimes I wonder if he can play both
necks at the same time.

Well shoot. I posted a message and lost it, so will try again.
Found Barry Thomas phone number. Will try to call him tomorrow. He has been playing for a Cowboy Church in Chickasha. He sure is a super guy and plays good steel also. I hear he builds one of the best. Well I gotta go check out the flights between Minco and Tuttle for a reservation. Later

Gary No need to bring a B:;;;o. I have on good authority that b0b is sending one air express, just for opening ceremonies. Heard he may donate it to the COPS club.

Back from St.Louis today...and my donkey is tired! Jim thanks for keeping it alive and real while I was out pimping...I mean soliciting for COPSGC meeting. Duane was setting up a brand new "rains" as I walked in the door (good thing for me my wife was there to shake her head with that "if you even think that you about it...U know the drill)Then I lost all my senses when he "tuned" up his millineum and turned it over to let me see what a titanium setup looked like...I cant go on without loosing a tear or motor function. Back to reality, Talked at Scotty's the next day and they said if we could record a little sumthin-sumthin and edit it they would play it on the Steel Radio later on...hmmmm. I will be sending out the itenerary for the meeting this week via email to everyone, hang tight...Thanks again, Bob

Its comming together folks, I will send you an email or post it here who will be "showcasing" the event. Keep in mind, this is not a convention (yet) just first jam get together organizational meeting...laid back, fun, good eats, and great company. Thats the atmosphere were going to try and convey to the "converts" of the future. So anybody else who may attend I will need your name and watcha bringin instrument wise, but whatever ya bring make sure your good attitude is packed first. We'll cut -heads when we get to know each other I'm kidding...as far as you know anyway. Bob
