The Hacienda Bros. will be playing tonight at the The Mint in Los Angeles, www.themintla.com , releasing their new album. Make sure to say howdy if you'll be there. It'll be great to meet other steelers in the crowd. I'll be the 6'3" guy with a brown shirt 27 yrs old and receding hairline probably in the front checking out Dave Berzansky working his magic. Hope to meet some of you there.

Jesse, are you by any chance related to Ernie Vargas who lives in Hawaiian Gardens?

"...with a brown shirt 27 yrs old..."

Man, I can't wait to tell my wife about you. She thinks I let my clothes hang around for too many decades.

I would love to see the Hacienda Bros.

Ha ha ha!

Actually, I'm not related to Ernie, but I know him. I've played upright bass in various rockabilly bands in the past and we've played the same venues. He's also known as Uncle Ernie because his nephews also are musicians. The funny thing is that he looks like my grandfather and I've told him before. Small world though! How do you know him?

I worked with Ernie on a few gigs with a singer named Country Jim who I play steel with. Ernie's a great guy and very fine guitar player. I need to take some guitars lessons from him

Yep .. if there's any way you can get out to see 'em you should. Dave B is so relaxed and creative and the 2 Daves play off each other very well. When I saw them here they opened with Way To Survive and Dave really nailed it.

Hope they get back to the Midwest soon.
